Things to do near Lulworth Castle

Why not make Camp Bestival part of a bigger holiday? Nearby you’ve got natural highlights like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, plus great family days out.

Monkey World Dorset

Monkey World (throwback to 2015)

In 2015 we did Camp Bestival and paired it with a visit to Monkey World, a primate sanctuary in Dorset. It’s a brilliant family day out and a nice break from festival life.

The sanctuary is home to over 250 rescued primates, with talks and feeding times that are genuinely interesting (not just for kids!).

Corfe Castle Dorset

Corfe Castle

Corfe Castle is one of the best nearby historic stops. The ruins are impressive, the views are great, and the village is a nice place to wander around.

We once visited as part of a Swanage trip and it ended up being one of those “glad we did it” days.

Durdle Door Dorset

Durdle Door

Durdle Door is a proper Jurassic Coast highlight — a dramatic limestone arch and a great spot for photos and a coastal walk.

It’s an easy add-on either before the festival or the day after, if you’re extending the trip.

Lulworth Cove Dorset

Lulworth Cove

We visited Lulworth Cove on our first Camp Bestival trip and it’s well worth doing. Coastal walks, a quick swim if the weather’s on your side, and plenty of spots to just take it in.

It’s a great “before or after” day if you want to make the most of being in Dorset.
